How to Prepare for Your Online Mental Health Appointment
An online appointment lets you see a clinician from your own home. A little preparation helps you get the most from your time. Here is what to do before, during and after your MindRoots telehealth appointment.
Before your appointment
- Choose a quiet, private space where you will not be interrupted.
- Check that you have a reliable internet connection and a charged device.
- Have your current medication list and any relevant health information available.
- Complete any questionnaires or forms you have been sent, and have identification ready if asked.
Joining the virtual waiting room
Before your appointment, you will receive a secure link to the virtual waiting room. Simply follow the link at your scheduled appointment time, and your clinician will admit you when they are ready.
What to expect in your first appointment
Your first appointment is a chance to talk about your concerns, current symptoms, health history, medications and what you would like support with. Together, you can consider options and develop an individualised care plan.
Privacy and confidentiality
Your personal and health information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy and health-information requirements, and there are limited circumstances where information may need to be shared for safety or legal reasons. Choosing a private location helps keep your appointment confidential.
Payment and changes to your booking
Appointment fees are required to be paid in advance to confirm your booking. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give as much notice as possible. You can read the details in our Terms & Conditions.
